I've been meaning to post this for a while but haven't had a chance since atteniding the concert.

This is the first time that I've seen Nik Bartsch and Ronin perform live and they're simply amazing! The band have a zen like concentration with Nik orchestrating the performance from behind the piano, which he plays like a man possessed. I've not seen any pianist integrate prepared and percussive piano elements into their performance so completely or wholistically.  I'm reminded of watching Jeff Beck play the Strat for the first time, being amazed by the total and simultaneous mastery of all aspects of the instrument: whammy bar, tone and volume controls and pickup selector and whilst playing. Quite amazing. I digress...

Getting back to Ronin a special mention goes to Sha playing clarinet and Kaspa Rast on Drums both of whom I was completely entranced by. The percussive sounds emanating from the bass clarinet were just brilliant and Rast's playing throughout was Stella.

Its been a long while since I've enjoyed a concert so much! Thank you Ronin 'twas truly awesome!
